When you come to Rivington you may wish to choose to simply chill out in the countryside. There are several interesting and easy rambles. For those who go up to the Pike they will enjoy magnificent views. On clear days the coastline of West Lancashire can be seen from here.

There are more places of interest in the surrounding countryside which include lakes, castle ruins, plus the remains of the once famous ornate "Chinese Gardens" in the former estate owned by Lord Leverhulme (circa 1900).

All these points of interest and countryside are open to the public all year round completely free of charge. Free car parking is available on the car parks in the area.

If you decide to relax you can enjoy the comfort and catering delights of the Great House Barn. This is a Tea Room and Gift Shop located in the heart of Rivington (free car parking).
